I've always had a thing for abstract art.
Whenever I look at a piece, I can't help but imagine it's just a snapshot of a bigger story – a story in motion. It's like the painter envisioned these colors and shapes dancing around, but could only capture a single moment of it on the canvas.
So, I decided to play around with one of the paintings currently hanging in my living room. By running the artwork through a GenAI workflow I created, I was able to "unpause" it to explore the kind of weird, sensorial story it might tell.
For the accompanying soundtrack, I combined AI-generated elements with some good ol’ live instrumentation to complement the visuals.
A mad little experiment, and I kinda like it. Who knows, maybe I'll start unpausing more of my abstract collection. Because why should these artworks be stuck in one moment forever?
